    It’s a classic for a reason
Take it from a hairdresser: This small brush looks toy-like, but it’s a professional-grade tool ideal for blow-drying short hair. With the pins pointing down, roll the brush into your roots to lift them against the direction they grow. With the other hand, aim your dryer’s flow-directing nozzle down the hair shaft toward the roots. Of course you must keep moving to avoid burning your scalp. This technique takes practice but produces a nice lift in volume and you can encourage hair to lay the way you wish.I trained at Vidal Sassoon, where back in the day standard-sized Denman brand brushes were mandated for all blow-dry styling. It can be tricky to learn to properly style your own hair, but for very short haircuts this little Denman really helps. While a larger brush might be easier to hold, this specific size and shape provides the perfect gentle curve to fit short hair, such as a pixie cut. It can make a big difference in the finished look.Excellent quality, smoothly finished so it will never snag or slice hair as cheaper look-alikes often do – it’s a compact but effective tool to brush or detangle hair while traveling or to carry in your purse. IMO well worth the somewhat steep price because it’s made to withstand daily, all-day heavy use under high heat in salons. So it’ll last you the rest of your life!

    Great travel brush
Compact, small brush just the right size for travel.

It’s probably best for blow drying
I actually haven’t tried using it for blow drying yet, but it does seem like the perfect brush for that. I have tried using this brush for detangling and it does the job, but it’s hard to say if it’s taking out unnecessary amounts of hair or if that’s just me. I would not recommend this brush for detangling if you have high density 4C (and maybe 4B) hair like me. As this brush is small and it would take an impractical amount of time to do my whole head with this brush. Even if I had the bigger version of this brush, I would say this brush is likely a better detangler for looser textures unless you’re blow drying your hair with the Tension Method. I have not tried it for defining my hair. I may come back and edit this review if I do though

    A great styling tool
I saw a you tube video that showed how to use a Denman brush to bring out the curl in hair. I have a flat top cut that fades to the back so I bought the smaller brush. I really like that I can go natural or use the brush to add more curls.

    Diman brush (sic)
I live this little brush. I purchased this thinking it was a full size brush , when I got it . It was this little pocket brush. I have to say tho it does the job big or small on my hair. I have coarse curly hair and it worked. It just was hard holding it, then handle is small. I like the brush brand , true product

    Goodbrush port ergonomics
This brush performs beautifully, but it’s very difficult to hold. The handle is too small and uncomfortable in my hands. For the price you would think more thought would have been given to the handle design.

Can a hairbrush change your life?
I have spent a large portion of my adult life wondering why I could never get my blowout to be like what I got at the salon. She used a round brush. I used a round brush. I finally just chalked it up to the fact that I must be inept and blowdry-challenged. Until I found the Denman. I am late to this I realize, but after seeing some videos demonstrating the flat wrap technique with a Denman, I thought I’d try it. I’m here to say that this brush changed my life. I took my (several) round brushes out of the drawer for good, this sweet baby is all I need. It’s the right size, weight, and shape to get my hair sleek, smooth, and laying just right. I’m never looking back.

    Get THIS Brush
Growing up in England, I always had a Denman or Mason Pearson brush. After moving to America and finally wearing out or losing all of my brushes, I went to Walgreens to find another. I think I’ve tried just about every brand of brush; Conair, Revlon, Vidal Sasson, Goodie, Kent…. the list goes on. At one point I did find one nice Revlon brush, but I lost it and by that time it was discontinued. I went through a hairbrush every two months, it seemed. The nubs on the top of the bristles would catch on a tangle in my hair and sometimes rip my hair out. I would get disgusted because lint would get caught around the bristles and the nub on the top of the bristle wouldn’t allow the lint to be cleaned off. The actual bristle holes would get dirty, and cleaning them was a chore which involved my nail brush and a toothpick. Not to mention, all of these brushes felt cheap and poorly designed. I bought a boar bristle brush from Conair (which I am still very pleased with), but the bristles weren’t enough to get the job done, especially when my hair was wet. Finally, after much aggravation, I asked my mother about the hairbrushes I remembered from England, and then began my search on Amazon. I found this product. I bought two. They are exactly how my mother and I remember them. The bristles aren’t too sharp and feel divine against the scalp. Any lint or stray hairs are easily removed from the bristles (no annoying nub on the top!). If the holes get dirty, the rubber cushion can be removed from the handle, the bristles pulled out, and everything can be given a good washing. Re-assembly is very easy and straightforward. Even so, I don’t find myself having to clean this brush very often. When we first received the brushes, it was a little annoying because the rubber kept sliding out due to the smooth, sealed surface of the rubber. We pulled the rubber out, and cleaned the plastic holder and rubber cushion with some soap and water. It stays in fine now, it just needs to have a little rubber grippy-ness. I wish these brushes were available everywhere. I wish I could give one to everyone. Please, save yourself the money and the time and get yourself a nice Denman brush. If you have the extra money, opt for a Mason Pearson.
