These are a perfect size stud for work. The gold has not tarnished. I wear either with a pearl or gold necklace so it is more versatile. It is also a little more dressy and interesting than plain pearl studs when you are tired of your pearl studs. Also I have a significant nickel allergy and these do not bother my ears for long hours.
